Lawn Bowling Club

The outdoor season opens from the last week in April to the first week in October. You may have decided you would like to try the game after watching indoor bowls on TV, or you may have seen the newly-released film 'Blackball'. This film is based on a true story of a young, rebel bowler from Devon, who enjoys breaking the rules, upsetting the officials and generally dislikes the etiquette of bowls - no doubt, very funny - but not the way to play bowls.

If any ladies or gentlemen between the ages of 18-90 or over are interested in learning how to play bowls, or even if you are already a bowler, you will be most welcome.

Please contact Maisie or Reg Rolls, both past Captains of the Ladies and Mens clubs, on 020 8641 1643, with name, address and phone number. We will contact you for informal talks in early April at the Club House, before offering you free coaching when the outdoor season opens, to decide if you like the game and wish to join the club.

Bowls is relatively cheap, compared to most sports and social activities today, and is ideal for anyone on their own to make friends.

Please note, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, due to the new Child Protection Law.
