The Ringmaster System
To increase the opportunities to make contact with the community, the Metropolitan Police Service has invested in a computerised voice messaging system, known as Ringmaster.

The Ringmaster system will record a spoken message/e-mail or fax from a member of the Police Service. It will then transmit that message to people/groups who have agreed to participate in the scheme.

The messages will normally be of an urgent nature. For instance, details of a particular type of burglary in a specific area, including descriptions of individuals and/or vehicles, wherever possible. You will be able to pass vital information back to the police on the telephone number given.

When the message is transmitted, the computer will ring participants' telephones at pre-specified times of the day. For example, if you are not home until 7.00 pm, you can decide that the system should not ring you until after that time. E-mails will be transmitted immediately.

The Police have invested in this system because we believe it will be an effective way to prevent crime and assist in the detection of offenders. Hopefully, it will also re-establish and consolidate the important partnership of police and the community that has been built up over many years.

If you wish to be included in the scheme, please request an Authorisation Form from Sutton Police Station. If you have any queries, regarding the Ringmaster system and its implementation, please do not hesitate to contact the dedicated Ringmaster Line on 020-8661 2265.

All crimes must continue to be reported in the normal way, through your local police station, or by using the 999 system.

How the 'Police Alert' button on the Home Page works
When an e-mail alert has been received by the Stonecot Hill Community Web Site, the message is posted in the Your Soapbox forum page. Until this happens, the 'Police Alert' button is green. After posting the message, the 'Police Alert' button changes to a blue flashing colour. It will stay this colour for the next seven days, to alert you to the new message. Clicking on this button will take you to the 'Your Soapbox' forum page.
